A new interview by The Wall Street Journal has been publicised. You can read it below:

How did you balance a character discovering her first love, but also someone trying to keep her best friend happy?

I think the key for this character is the internal life of her, because she’s with her best friend and she can’t enjoy it because she’s thinking about David, and she’s with David and she can’t enjoy it because she’s thinking about her best friend. It’s like your parents tell you, you tell one lie and then you have to tell five more to keep up with that one, and ten more to keep up with those six. It becomes a whole thing and it gets away from me, when that’s part of growing up and finding the truth. I think that’s what ultimately Lilly is all about. Finding her truth and learning that if you’re honest with yourself and honest with the people around you, you can find out who you are and become a true self. As an actor, I love so much having to outwardly portray something and internally going through something totally different. It was that kind of conflict that is Lilly.FULL

Oops, the first review of “Very Good Girls” is in and it’s not lookin’ good. Dakota and Elizabeth Olsen get credit for good performances and Foner gets some nice credit too, but the film gets a C- grade anyway — and that seems charitable considering what the reviewer had to say. But, I’ve loved films the reviewers hate, so I’m not giving up until I see it.
